About Michael Weiss

I graduated from the University of Michigan in 1994 with a triple major in Mathematics (with Honors), Physics (with Honors), and English, and went on to study as a Marshall Scholar at Cambridge University, where I earned a M.Sc in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (Part III of the Mathematical Tripos). On returning to Michigan, I earned a Masters degree in Pure Mathematics, before leaving the University in 2000 to teach at a private high school. In 2005 I returned to the University to resume doctoral studies in both Mathematics and Education, which I completed in 2009.
From 2009-2012 I was on the faculty of Oakland University in Rochester Hills, MI, where I taught courses in both the Department of Mathematics & Statistics and the Department of Teacher Development & Educational Studies. From 2012-2016 I was an Assistant Professor at Michigan State University, where I had a joint appointment in the Teacher Education department (College of Education) and the Program in Mathematics Education (College of Natural Science). In 2016 I returned to my alma mater, the University of Michigan, where I am currently a Lecturer.
